The Horse of Course – Downtown Claremore

The Horse of Course was founded in 1995 by Beth Haist. Beth’s job with American Airlines often sent her to Europe; as an equestrian, she found herself exploring the tack shops of Germany and France. She brought back unique, high quality items for her fellow riders in the US. Demand for these hard-to-find products grew, and in 1995, Beth and her husband Marty began selling tack from The Horse of Course’s very first mobile unit- their horse trailer!

Since then, The Horse of Course has expanded to a full service tack shop with expertise in dressage and hunter/jumper riding. We carry a complete selection of tack and apparel for the English rider: show clothing, stable necessities, training equipment, equestrian sportswear, books, and gifts. We’ve partnered with experts to design innovative saddles and apparel. Our knowledgeable sales staff can help you find what you need quickly so you can spend more time in the saddle.

The Horse of Course is proud to offer Marty Haist as our expert saddler. Marty studied at the Sommer saddle factory in Germany and continues to expand his knowledge of saddles and saddle repair. Marty is available for repairs, reflockings, and fittings and typically travels with the dressage mobile unit.

Our two mobile units travel both locally and nationally to serve our customers. Our local tack trailer travels across Oklahoma at dressage and hunter jumper shows. Our dressage trailer spends most of the summer at dressage shows along the East Coast and spends the winter in Florida. Check our mobile schedule to see where they’ll be next!

We’re proud to sponsor many equestrian organizations, teams, and activities both locally and nationally. These include Great Plains Dressage, the Green Country Dressage Classic, the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, the NEDA Fall Festival, and the Rogers County 4H Horse Club. Please call us at 1-888-49HORSE for sponsorship inquiries. The Horse Of Course is located at 506 W. Will Rogers in historic downtown Claremore.
