Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
April 18, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 pm$15
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an award-winning, nationwide walk-a-thon in which we encourage participants to literally walk one mile in women’s shoes. It is a playful opportunity to raise awareness in our community about the serious causes and effects of violence against women.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 18, at Gazebo Park. Registration is at 9a, and the walk begins at 10a. There is a $15 fee per walker (includes t-shirt, hot dog, chips and drink). There is FREE registration for college and high school students and children. A $50 sponsorship/donation goal is suggested per walker. There is a $10 entry fee for Paws for a Cause. All dogs must be on a leash and have current immunizations.
Wearing high heels is optional, but wearing red shoes or clothing is encouraged.
The walk is describe as “The International Men’s Walk to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence,” but we invite the whole family (including the dogs) to walk with us. Join the fun by forming a team and asking individuals and businesses to sponsor your walk. Teams can be made up of family members, co-workers, church members, organization and club members, sports teams, etc.
All donations benefit Safenet Services and are tax deductible.
