Spring Break at the Memorial

Activities are planned at Will Rogers Memorial Museum each day next week during annual spring break for area school children.
Bart Taylor, Museum educator, announced highlights of different events for each day Monday through Friday.
The week will end with the first of Food Truck Fridays (which will continue each Friday through September) with a food truck in the Museum parking lot from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Andy Hogan, Museum historical guide and Will Rogers interpreter, will be at the Museum and Ivan Pace, a Clem Rogers interpreter, will be at the Oologah Birthplace Ranch, both from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday.
Following is a list of activities for children (remember children under 17 are admitted to the Museum free) for each day of the week. The Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday: Yard games (similar to Will Rogers Days) including bean bag toss and sack races. Horse shoe pitching contests will be 2-3 p.m.
Tuesday: Will’s movies showing in the Will Rogers Theatre, movies run concurrently with yard games.
Wednesday: Make your own craft. Poster board, crayons, markers, glitter, glue, supplies and some pictures of Will for kids to use in creating their own work, which can be displayed in the Children’s Museum or taken home. Yard games will continue.
Thursday: Guided tours of the Museum with some “behind the scenes” as needed throughout the day. Face painting will be in the Children’s Museum from 2-4 p.m. Yard games will continue.
Friday: Paper airplane contest in design and farthest flight categories 2-4 p.m. in the Children’s Museum. Yard games continue.
