Kids Summer Safety Fest

The Claremore Indian Hospital will be hosting the Second Annual Kids Summer Safety Fest on June 4th, 2016 from 9:30am-12:00pm. The event will be located outdoors at 101 S. Moore in Claremore. The event is geared toward school-aged children and will include games and fun educational learning activities created by local agencies and businesses. Door prize drawings will take place at 11:30am.
Safe Kids Coalition Tulsa, with the assistance of the Claremore Fire Department, will be conducting a car seat safety checkup event where nationally certified technicians will be on site to show caregivers how to properly install car seats and check those already installed. Additionally, there will be a limited number of car seats provided to those in need at no cost.
Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) will be providing education about water safety. The City of Claremore Power & Light will have an interactive electrical safety booth. Operation Lifesavers will perform educational activities surrounding the importance of railroad safety. The Will Rogers Masonic Lodge # 53 will be providing the most comprehensive child identification program in the United States at no cost. This includes height and weight measurements, dental impressions with DNA, scent, fingerprints, photos, and recording for child’s voice recognition. This package will be given to the caregiver for utilization if your child is missing.
Pete Goltra, Akdar Shriner Tulsa, will be attending with his popcorn truck providing snacks. American Red Cross will be attending with their emergency response vehicle with their water station. Tulsa Life Flight will be on scene with their helicopter for kids to sit inside!! Contech, Inc will have heavy machinery onsite to teach about the dangers of playing on construction sites.
Listen to fun music with a DJ! Kids can tour both a fire truck and an ambulance. Play a variety of games courtesy of Claremore Indian Health Service. Tulsa Emergency Infant Services will be providing information regarding the services that they provide along with diaper giveaway. Safenet Emergency Services will have a fun game teaching children how to address bullying. Claremore Auto Parts has provided a wrecked car with teachings regarding the importance of seat belt safety. Nabatak Outdoors will be giving away a life jacket and fishing pole. Other agencies attending with special booths and activities include: Saint Francis Children’s Hospital, Claremore Hillcrest Hospital, and Rogers County Sheriff’s Department- K9 unit.
