*Latex paint*, which is water-based, is not a hazardous waste if it is disposed of properly.
Follow these steps to ensure you’re disposing of it properly:
Place empty latex paint cans with the lids off in the garbage. If you have less than an inch of leftover paint in a can, solidify it by removing the lid and letting it dry out in a safe spot. Then put the can in the garbage with the lid off. If you have more than an inch of leftover paint in a can, mix cat litter or cement with the paint. Let the mixture harden, then put the paint can in the garbage with the lid off.
Annual “Trash Off” event held in conjunction with “Keep Oklahoma Beautiful” program.
Services are offered year round during regular business hours.
