Festival of Trees
December 6, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$50
In its 15th year, Safenet Services’ Festival of Trees Auction & Gala is building upon last year’s amazing success. The much-anticipated holiday fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, December 6th, at 6pm at the Will Rogers Downs Event Center with all proceeds benefitting the domestic abuse and sexual assault shelter and prevention agency.
“Festival of Trees is our biggest event and our best fundraiser of the year. In 2018, we had an incredible turn out and were able to raise over $87,000 for our shelter. Our theme is ‘Making Spirits Bright,’ which we felt doubled as a great holiday theme but also reminds attendees the real reason for the event – to help families suffering from domestic violence,” said Alexandra Seifried, Development Specialist at Safenet Services.
The silent auction will start at 6:00pm with the dinner buffet opening at 6:30pm and live auction begins at 7:30pm. There will also be a change to a cash bar. The auctioneer is Rick Reimer.
Back for the second year after selling out quickly is the Golden Ticket. “I am really excited for the Golden Ticket,” said Donna Grabow, Executive Director, “we are selling 75 tickets at $100 for your chance to pick any item off the live auction before we even start bidding.” Must be present to win and the ticket will be drawn at 7:30pm, right before the live auction begins. Tess Maune, of News on 6, will be back to draw the Golden Ticket again this year! The event committee is still working to finalize items for the live auction, but as of now, the Golden Ticket winner would have their choice of over 25 items.
Some of these currently include: 15 Christmas trees, a wine tour, a Christmas limo light tour, OSU basketball tickets, and two round-trip domestic flights courtesy of Southwest Airlines. “We are so grateful Southwest donated those tickets, I think they will be a big draw for attendees,” Grabow said. Golden Tickets are currently being sold at Safenet Services office – hurry and get yours before they run out!
The website to preview the live auction items and purchase tickets is bidpal.net/festivaloftrees19. Tickets are on sale now and you can also purchase sponsorships at the web address above. Tickets are $50 before the event and $65 at the door.
Event sponsors include: Win & Kay Ingersoll, Kemp Quarries, BancFirst, Rescue Heat & Air, Highfill Properties, Wastewater Solutions, RAE Corp, Bob & Cheryl Dean, Highway 66 Construction, Nees Realty, MCP Propane, Mariner Wealth Advisors, and Cherokee Nation Councilwoman Janees Taylor. Safenet Services still has sponsor opportunities; if you are interested, please call Alexandra Seifried at 918-341-1424. A table sponsor for 8 is $700.
“Unfortunately, there is a great need for our agency in our community. Nationally, statistics show one in four women will experience domestic violence; and in Oklahoma, we are sixth in the nation for domestic violence. This means it is happening to someone you know,” said Grabow. Thankfully, Safenet is here to help the victims of Rogers and Mayes County. In 2018, the agency was able to provide 186 women and children 8,535 safe nights. 905 clients received counseling, or attended groups or classes, and 3,572 calls were made to Safenet’s 24-hour crisis line.
