More than 500 Rogers County children and families are expected to attend the “Second Annual Rogers County Back to School Bash” set for Saturday, August 6, at Northeast Technology Center, Claremore Campus. The event is scheduled for 9-11:30 a.m.
Invitations have been sent to more than 100 vendors to participate in the event which range from health services, to nonprofits to local organizations and businesses. The purpose of the event is to provide Rogers County students, and their parents, an opportunity to start the new school year with information that will help them have a positive and successful year.
Sharon Bittner, with the Rogers County Department of Human Services, is the event organizer and said she anticipates this year’s event will be even larger than last year.
“We were thrilled to see the number of people who turned out last year, and expect even more people attending this year. Vendors were able to provide information to approximately 500 people who attended last year’s event,” said Bittner. “We invite all school-age children and families in Rogers County to attend this free event and receive information from vendors. It is truly a fun event for everyone who attends.”
If your organization or business is interested in being a vendor, please contact Sharon Bittner at Sharon.Bittner@okdhs.org by July 15. Space is limited, and there is no cost to be a vendor.
The event is sponsored by the Department of Human Services, First United Methodist Church, Northeast Technology Center, Hope Harbor, and the Rogers County Coalition.
