Two special programs are scheduled June 23 and 24 in the Will Rogers Memorial Museum Theatre.
Michael Wallis, a Tulsan with the widely-recognized voice in the movie “Cars” and a leading promoter of Route 66, will join “Route 66: An American Odyssey” director John Paget on Movie Night at the Museum on Friday, June 24. Doors open at 6 p.m. for kids’ crafts, games and fellowship. The movie begins at 7p. Wallis and Paget will be available for a question and answer session following the movie showing.
Admission is free and refreshments compliments of Bank of Commerce.
On Thursday night, June 23, the focus will be on Lynn Riggs and a film he made in Santa Fe. Riggs filmed what looks like a movie in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is actual footage of a parade and different aspects of resident’s lives. “Day in Santa Fe” was released in 1931.
Will Rogers Memorial will share the event with Claremore Museum of History and Steve Robinson, director, for a lecture series program in the Museum Theatre at 7 p.m.
