As I have mentioned before, we Meltons have a three-way test of which car to drive. 1.) Do we have keys? 2.) Does it have gas? And 3.) Does it have a tag?
I normally wouldn’t do a driveway article on the same body I’ve done recently (2013 Terrain SLT) but this one was so different, it deserves a shot. The other Terrain was an AWD V6 with leather and all the radar gadgets (It also sold for a whole lot more.)
This SLE was more the plain vanilla with a 4-cylinder, front wheel drive and cloth seats.
I was really surprised at the capability. Driving around town, I didn’t miss the bigger engine; the front wheel drive with its weight on the drive wheels climbed our hill as well as the 4×4 cars. It didn’t have seat heaters (normally a requirement) but I found that with the cloth seats I really didn’t need them.
To tell the truth, I didn’t miss all the radar gadgets barking at me. It was just a plain, comfortable ride that did everything I asked. (And the price was right.)
