Rogers State Baseball completed a four-game season sweep of Northeastern State on Wednesday, defeating the RiverHawks 3-2 in a non-conference game at the Diamond Sports Complex. Case Woodard led the Hillcats on the mound over the first four innings, giving up just one walk as the Hillcats took a team no-hit bid into the sixth inning. Woodard finished with two strikeouts in the no decision. Rogers State took the lead in the third inning when Griffin Keller doubled down the right-field line, scoring Zack Mann. Blake Chiaramonte doubled the Hillcats lead in the fourth inning with a double to left center, scoring Dylan Russell. The visitors would tie the game in the sixth inning, scoring the first run on a double, followed by a second run on a wild pitch. The post office will be accepting passport applications from 9a - 1p. Walk-ins are welcome!You can pick up passport forms at the post office during the fair, and you can even get your photo taken for $15. Led by Coach Chris Henderson, this group of outstanding young ladies is heading to State! They competed against eight other teams at the 5-A Regionals in Pryor.The Lady Zebras will play Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, for the state title. They will battle it out on the greens in Oklahoma City at Lincoln Park West.Let's go, Lady Zebras!
First Christian Church will host their semi-annual blood drive with the Oklahoma Blood Institute on Sunday, April 28 from 10:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center at 5th and Florence.   OBI is a local non-profit blood bank that provides blood products for over 90% of the state of Oklahoma’s hospital facilities. Donors need to drink a lot of water and eat well before donating. A valid identification is necessary. The committee will provide a light lunch for participants. Each donor receives a t-shirt from OBI. During the month of April, all blood donors will be entered to win a storm shelter from FlatSafe. Light of Hope is hosting Hike of Hope on Saturday, April 27, at 10a, at the Red Bud Valley Nature Preserve in Catoosa. Hike in honor of, in memory of, or in hope of someone. As we hike, we are able to ease our minds, find time to pray and find peace in what surrounds us. Take some time to enjoy nature, family, friends, and the hope that we have in God's presence. This is simply a personal time of reflection as well as fellowship. If you need prayer, we will be available to pray with you. If you need solitude, you will be able to find areas to simply be alone and rest.There are two different trails that lead around the preserve. Head to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum for Will Rogers Movie Night on Friday, April 26th. This movie night will feature Will Rogers in "Connecticut Yankee." Doors will open at 6:30 PM and the movie will begin at 7:00 PM. Admission is FREE and attendees can enjoy free popcorn and drinks during the film. Contestants will need to participate in a qualifier this Sunday, April 28, at 2p. The event will be held at Cowboy Country Fellowship in Talala. Riders must attend this and qualify to be eligible for the Will Rogers Stampede Rodeo in Claremore on Memorial Day weekend.Mutton Bustin' will be held before each night's 8p rodeo performance. Riders must weigh no more than 70 pounds.Registration is $20. Deadline to sign up is 1:30p on Sunday, April 28.
