The family classes are for seven years of age and older so parents can train with their children. Everyone starts in the white belt class.
The junior advance classes are for purple belts and higher, seventeen years of age and under. This way, the older and higher-ranked students can mentor the younger and lower belts.
The adult open class is for orange belts and up, over eighteen years of age.
We have testing the first Monday and Tuesday of every month. Students must have the minimum of nine classes monthly and know their entire curriculum to test and pass.
We combine Taekwondo, Jujitsu and Escrima. We do World Taekwondo forms, and Basics every month, and we rotate every month between the Taekwondo continuous sparring, Jujitsu and Escrima for the rest of the classes. In January, April, July and October, we practice the Jujitsu. In February, May, August and November, we practice Taekwondo continuous sparring, and March, June, September and December are dedicated to Escrima.
We have a weapons class on Saturday mornings, but you do have to be a student in family classes to participate. We also practice padded Escrima weapons January through April, Nunchaku (Nunchucks) May through August and Koryo Gumdo (Korean Sword) September through December.
For those interested in something else, we also offer fitness classes including strength training classes with resistance bands and Fitness Kick Boxing, which is a fun challenge. My brother teaches a Primal Fitness class out of our location, as well.
We stock martial arts supplies and can order any martial arts products that our students need and want.
Think you need to be a kid? Think you’re too late to start? Not true. Our most mature student started with us at the age of sixty-eight! Last March, she celebrated her seventy-eighth birthday. Last April, she earned her fourth-degree black belt.
