Walk a Mile in Her Shoes returns to Claremore on Saturday, April 21. This event is hosted by Safenet Services and serves to raise awareness of domestic violence. Oklahoma ranks 6th nationally for domestic violence and in 2017, Safenet was able to help 200 women and children for a total of 10,300 safe nights. The Claremore Museum of History will is open to the public on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. They have a variety of exhibits including the “surrey with the fringe on top” used in filming Oklahoma!. This year's Relay for Life features a 5k and Fun Run! The race will begin at CHS Andy Payne Track on Saturday, April 21, at 4:30p (fun run) and 5p (5k). The Relay For Life 5K is a fundraising race benefiting the American Cancer Society.
