You may have seen the Teaching Gardens at Will Rogers Park, near the splash pad. Those have been built and maintained by the Master Gardeners of Rogers County. Now the gardeners are ready to share their love of plants and flowers with all of you! The Claremore High School band and color guard will be slinging suds this Saturday, August 18, at their annual car wash fundraiser. The kids will be at Claremore Car-Mart from 10a - 4p. Proceeds benefit the band for new equipment and music. Come on out and support our mighty marching Zebra Band!

In the day of Will Rogers’ youth, natural materials were used for decorations. Learn to make a corn husk doll at Family Day at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch on Saturday, August 18. From 1-3 p.m., artisans from Hunter’s Home at Tahlequah will be on hand to help create the dolls, which were often used for Christmas tree decorations. The Claremore Museum of History will is open to the public on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. They have a variety of exhibits including the “surrey with the fringe on top” used in filming Oklahoma!.
