The City of Claremore’s 4th of July celebration is back! Note: Claremore Lake Park will close at 10 p.m. on July 1 for event preparations.
On Saturday, July 3, the park will open at 6 a.m. for the Kids Fishing Derby, which begins at 7 a.m. The first 300 children will receive a free rod and reel, small tackle box, and bait. Trophies will be awarded for smallest and largest fish in each group. There will also be other prizes, including six bicycles! There will be three age groups: 4-6 years, 7-9 years, and 10-12 years. The fishing derby will conclude at 10 a.m. Park closes again at 11 a.m.
Claremore Lake Park will reopen at 6 p.m. The festivities will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with the national anthem and raising of the flag, courtesy of the Claremore Fire Department. The DJ will begin at 6:45 p.m. The fireworks extravaganza will start at 9:30 p.m.
Limited concessions will be available, with proceeds benefitting local Boy Scout troops. Limited handicap and motorcycle parking is only available in the park. Other attendees can use free parking at Stampede Park adjacent to Claremore Lake Park. A shuttle service will be provided.
No private fireworks, pets, use of public/private grills or alcoholic beverages are allowed in Claremore Lake Park. No boats, canoes, or kayaks allowed in the water during the event.
