Farmers to Families Food Box Program Claremore Area Food Distribution

Food Distribution:

The coronavirus pandemic has caused quite the impact to our local farmers.  As part of a grant from the USDA, Farmers to Families Food Box Program was born and the TSET HLP team, in partnership with Mercy Chefs and GoFresh, has been able to help with getting food distributed to our local communities.

When this effort launched, there was a large focus in Claremore at the Claremore Expo Center.  Over 7,000 produce and dairy boxes were handed out each week!  This was quite the impressive effort and seemed to flow flawlessly as volunteers showed up and put in the work to get the food out to everyone in an efficient manner.  However, it made more sense to bring the food to the surrounding communities and so efforts were made to set up distribution sites to smaller communities.
