Claremore Takes Steps to Avoid COVID-19

Hey, all. Ash here. I’ve been out and about quite a bit today, and this is what I’ve learned.

Oklahoma public schools will be closed until April 6.

Spring break activities at the Will Rogers Memorial and Birthplace Ranch are canceled.

Tuesday’s Bangers & Mash Lunch has been postponed. You can still pop over to J Farley’s and order bangers and mash for lunch on your own, though!

The Claremore Kennel Club’s annual dog show at the Expo has been canceled.

Rogers County Senior Day, planned for April 14 at the Claremore Expo, will now be held on June 16.

Chick-fil-A Claremore is now drive-thru only.

Burger King and Arby’s are changing to drive-thru only.

If you hit up Express Personnel for a job, don’t go in if you have any symptoms (cough, etc.); call them and they will conduct a phone interview.

David Merriman State Farm is limiting walk-in traffic at this time as a measure to keep employees safe and healthy. They are available from 9a – 5p daily, and have 24/7 after-hours customer service. David answers emails at all times.

J Farley’s is open but is now offering a curbside delivery service. Call in your order, and give them a ring when you get there, and they’ll bring it out to you.

Tulsa Zoo is closed until further notice.

The Oklahoma Aquarium is closed.

Cato will be open Monday – Saturday from 12p-6p and Sundays from 1-5p.

All Cherokee Nation casinos, including the Hard Rock and Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs, will close at midnight on March 16 through the end of March.

Spectrum Paint’s grand opening, scheduled for April 8, is postponed until further notice.

The March meeting of the Claremore Blind and Visually Impaired Support Group has been canceled.

10Box will close at 8p daily.

Walmart is now open from 6a – 11p only. This is to allow the stores time to restock (hello, toilet paper!) and disinfect.

RSU will have spring break from March 16-27, and then have remote instruction for a minimum of one week, March 30-April 3.

The Claremore Senior Center has canceled all scheduled games and activities until further notice. The center will provide carry-out lunches only. Orders must be called in by 11:30a and picked up between 12p-1p.

Will Rogers Library is closed.

Master Gardeners meeting for March has been canceled.

All Claremore Public Schools athletic and extracurricular events have been canceled through spring break.

Polo on the Prairie, scheduled for May 2 at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch, has been canceled.

The Stonebrook Project’s Evening of Tranquility, scheduled for April 2, has been postponed.

Wash your hands, folks, and just STAY HOME as much as possible. Be an introvert. Be a hermit. Just stay healthy.
