After all the excitement from the tree lighting, West Bend Winterland is kicking off their event schedule with Senior Citizen and Veterans Afternoon Out on December 12th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. In collaboration with Rogers County nursing homes and veterans center, Winterland will be hosting a fun afternoon for our mature citizens. The Claremore High School choir will be providing entertainment for the afternoon, crooning traditional holiday songs for the group. Free coffee and cookies will be served and Santa will be on hand to spread goodwill and cheer. All our guests will be honored with a homemade gift from Claremore 3rd graders. This event is free and open to the public. Come on out and join in the festivities.

West Bend Winterland will be in full swing on December 13th and 14th. The synthetic skating ring will be open, the life-sized snow globe and trackless train will be running and free to the public beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Santa will join the fun for pictures from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The fun continues on Saturday, December 14th. Skating will open at 5 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. Santa will return for pictures but with a little help. Nerd Alert Customs, Once Upon an Event, will provide fairy tale princesses for a wonderful Christmas photo opportunity from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A background with be provided, but there will be no professional photography available so bring your cameras and your phones!

“Our sponsors and partners have worked very hard this year to provide this holiday event for all to enjoy,” said Tanya Andrews, Executive Director of Claremore Expo and Tourism Development. “We truly wanted to bring an event the whole family could enjoy without a charge.”

The 2019 West Bend Winterland will close with the New Year’s Eve Bash featuring ice skating, games, s’mores, an apple cider toast, music, dancing, and a firework show. The grand finale will start at 9 p.m. with a firework show shot from the grounds of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum all before 10 p.m. so the family can join in and parents can still have a few hours to themselves.
