Claremore Police Department personnel are about to look a little scruffy, but it’s for a good cause. Officers will be participating once again in No Shave November. Each officer pays a weekly “fine” of $25 to violate the facial hair policy, in addition to collecting donations. The officer who raises the most money gets one full day off.

Proceeds will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for students at Claremont Elementary. There are 410 students, and the goal is to buy at least one gift per child.

At the end of the month, a panel of judges will vote on the best and worst beards. The winner in each category gets a 1/2 day of paid leave.

If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to City of Claremore. Cash is also accepted. If you would like to sponsor a particular officer, please specify which one when making your contribution. All donations are tax-deductible.
