Reveille Rotary of Claremore announces they are now accepting applications from area high school juniors for RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards). Reveille will sponsor three juniors from high schools within Rogers County. The program will accept students who have outstanding records and are looking for new ways to learn and grow in the areas of leadership, communication, diversity, vision, mission, teamwork, service, selflessness, and Rotary.

“Our goal is to reach out to juniors who attend high school in Oologah, Chelsea, Foyil, Sequoyah, Verdigris, Inola and Catoosa,” said Rick Elliott, Chair of Reveille’s RYLA committee. “our club focuses on the county schools so that the noon Rotary club can focus on Claremore. We want to reach out to those students who will be our next generation of community leaders”.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is Rotary’s sponsored youth leadership training program. RYLA is focused on class leaders who are currently in their junior year of high school. The training program enhances our community’s youth leadership and communication skills while breaking them out of their comfort zones and encouraging service above self. RYLA gives students the confident to spread their ideas of impact to their community, while becoming life changers in the lives of those they come in contact with.

This year’s RYLA is October 17-20th and is held at the Salvation Army Heart of the Hills facility located in Welling, Oklahoma just outside Tahlequah. “By sponsoring three students the Reveille Rotary Club of Claremore will pay the cost for each student that covers everything from meals, transportation, lodging, program materials, low and high ropes course, entertainment and all activities.” The three-day event is chaperoned by area Rotary Club members, Rotary District 6110 volunteers and community leaders.
