If you’re looking for something unique and fun for the kids this summer, check out the new schedule for summer day camps, sponsored by the City of Claremore!

Participation: All classes are limited in the number of students who may participate. For those classes that require fees, participation will be determined by those who have paid first. If the class size is limited to 15 participants, only the first 15 paid will be eligible to participate.

Payment: Payment may be made with cash or personal check at the Claremore Park and Recreation Department, within the Claremore Community Center (2301 North Sioux). Sorry but we do not have the ability to take on-line or electronic payments for the camps. For all camps except “Blast Camp” make checks payable to the “Individual Instructor”. For payment on the “Blast Camp” make checks payable to “Volunteers For Youth”

Special Notice: Please let us know if your child might have allergic reactions to any food or materials that could present any health problems for them while attending camps.

Refund Policy: Full refunds will be granted if the request is submitted (7) business days in advance of the camp or class start date or if the camp does not have enough participants to begin. Once the camp or class has begun, no refunds will be granted.

June 3rd – 6th “Cooking w/ Ms. Linda”
Who: Ages 9 – 13
What: Learn from the best. Ms. Linda is back again to lend her knowhow in the culinary arts. Do not miss this. Students will not wear open toe shoes, please have hair tied back. When: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

June 3rd – 6th “Move to Learn”
Who: Grades 1st – 5th
What: A combination of Yoga for kids, movement activities, basketball, hikes to the playground and to Claremore Lake Splash Pad. Campers bring a bottle of water, snack and towel. Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.
When: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Where: Claremore Community Center (Gym) & Field Trips

Cost: $50.00 per student.

June 10th – 14th “Healthy Relationships Across the Lifespan”
Who: Ages 10 plus
What: The focus for this workshop is to educate young people how to have healthy relationships in all aspects. They will also have conversations about asking permission for everything, (borrowing a pencil and show empathy towards others). More information on request.
When: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

June 10th – 13th “Arts & Crafts w/ Ms. Brandee (Session # 1)”

What: Have you ever wanted to compete on a Food Network cooking show? This may be the camp for you. Learn how to follow a recipe, create delicious desserts come and join us. When: 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

June 10th – 14th “Time Traveling Inventors”
Who: Ages 7 – 13
What: From dancing with dinosaurs to spinning on the Space Station, let’s take a look at the inventions that have changed history. Join in the fun of discovery.

What: Improvisation and games for the beginning actor.

June 17th – 21st “Stem Camp”
Who: Grades 3rd – 5th
What: Students will participate in STEM centers throughout the week with different themes and challenges for each center. You will be taught how to record your predictions and findings in a scientific journal, which you will be able to keep.
When: 9:00 am – 11:00 am

June 17th – 21st “Science is Fun” Session # 1
Who: Ages 8 – 14
What: Students will be studying Chemistry, Physics, Rocks and Biology during this week long camp.

June 24th – 28th “Blast Camp (Session # 1)”
Who: Grades 4th – 8th
What: Don’t miss this fun packed week of swimming, basketball, racquetball, dodge ball, Laser Quest and surprises. Also included is a trip to Woodland Hills Mall. Who: Grades PK – 2nd
What: You will be brought to the beach in your classroom. You will do beach-themed crafts, snacks and games. You will end the week with a water-filled afternoon.
