The Green Country Classic Ranch Rodeo invites teams of five to six cowboys from the leading ranches in the Green Country area to compete in events such as cattle sorting, penning, wild cow milking, cattle branding and bronc riding. Chutes will open at 7 on Friday and 6 on Saturday with on-the-edge-of-your-seat entertainment for the entire family.
At 8 AM on Saturday the ranch horse competition will take place. This event allows cowboys and cowgirls spotlight their horses in a series of individual events.
Junior Cowboys and Cowgirls will be showing off their ranch horses and skills on Saturday at noon at the Junior Ranch Rodeo in a variety of events that these youngsters perform on the ranch on a daily basis.
The GCCRR is sanctioned by the Working Ranch Cowboy Association, teams are not only vying for thousands of dollars worth of prizes but also a chance for an invitation to compete at the WRCA World Championships in Amarillo, Texas, in November.
In addition to the ranch rodeo, you’ll want to browse the wide selection of goods and services offered at the Cowboy Trade Show. Here you’ll find every kind of Western gear imaginable — from handmade boots and saddles to house wares. The free trade show is open from 3 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to end of event on Saturday.
