Chair-ity Auction is Back in Claremore on March 2

If a roaring twenties, Gatsby-styled gala sounds fun, then you’ll want to make plans to attend Volunteers for Youth’s 6th annual “Chair-ity” Auction on March 2nd. Upcycled vintage furnishings and functionally revived cast-offs will go home with the high bidders along with a few “experiences” that capture the hearts and wallets of the more adventurous.

“We have major reasons to celebrate this year and the community is encouraged to join our celebration and attend the gala starting at 6:30 pm on March 2nd at the Claremore Conference Center,” said Mendy Stone, Volunteers for Youth.

Skilled craftsmen, Pinterest enthusiasts and anyone with a creative idea are encouraged to contact Volunteers for Youth to donate live auction items. Already ready for the auction block is a headboard-turned-bench, OU-Iowa State tickets in a football suite, Wine Limo Tour for 8, fully furnished dollhouse and several furniture pieces.

A silent auction will include items of interest to men and women of all ages with packages to fit all wallet sizes. The evening’s theme will be carried out with 20s-era decorations, drinks, clothing and music. While period attire for attendees is not mandatory, it is encouraged and “best dressed” awards will be given.

Ticket prices include a full dinner and are on sale now and available by contacting Volunteers for Youth at 918-343-2530. Tickets may also be purchased at the Claremore Chamber of Commerce or the Claremore Community Center. Prior to the event, prices are $35 each or two for $60. “We purposefully kept the ticket prices as low as we possibly could so attendees would still have money in their pockets to bid on all of the wonderfully creative items the gala will feature,” added Stone. All proceeds benefit the PAL mentoring program of Volunteers for Youth.
