Shepherd’s Cross doesn’t disappoint when it comes to holiday festivities! The popular Living Nativity event returns December 13 – 15 and December 20 – 22. Hours of operation are 10a – 8p.
The Living Nativity is an indoor, heated, walk-through event complete with farm animals and costumed characters inside an Amish-built barn. Come to the farm and enjoy the peace of a few hours spent in the country, contemplating that original Christmas when the Christ Child was born in a stable.
This year, there will be Christmas musicians or a dramatic story each hour. Christmas musicians include either a violinist, flutist, guitarist, gospel musicians, quartets, or cellists. Musicians needed! Stories include The Innkeeper’s Wife and Menagerie at the Manger.
Enjoy the peaceful white Christmas light display and enjoy complimentary apple cider and cookies! Take the Journey with the Shepherds Wagon Ride in the pasture with the sheep, just as they journeyed to see the Christ on that first hallowed night. Available every hour ($6.50 per person; canceled in inclement weather). 100% of proceeds benefit missions.
The Shepherd’s Shop will be open, featuring a host of Made in Oklahoma crafts, as well as gifts from more than 50 artisans.
There are plenty of activities for kids, including crafts. Build a bird feeder or make a Christmas ornament or evergreen wreath as a family.
If your family would like to volunteer in the Living Nativity, please contact Shepherd’s Cross. Shifts are for two hours throughout the day. Participants experience memorable, peace-filled, quality family time. Costumes are provided; photos made available after the event. Volunteers receive a free wagon ride and the opportunity to scale to the fourth floor of the silo. Volunteers can also make one free wreath and ornament.
The event is donation-based admission. Suggested donation is $5.00 per person. Buses or groups of 20 or more, please schedule in advance.
Shepherd’s Cross is located at 16792 E. 450 Rd. in Claremore.
