Kids in kindergarten through 6th grade will have a great time brushing up on their sports skills during Camp for Champs at First United Methodist Church July 12 and 13. Local coaches and star athletes share their enthusiasm for the games they love by teaching the kids new skills and techniques. Flag football, cheerleading, soccer, and basketball are offered. Children can participate in all four sports or concentrate on just one or two.
The camp takes place from 8:30 to 11:00, during the cooler part of the day. Cost is only $20 per child. Whether rain or shine, the camp will go on. “Last year it rained both days, but the kids still had a great time and learned a lot even though we had to stay in the church’s gym,” said Kent Tucker, camp director.
