Reading is FUN at the Claremore Library!

This month, the Will Rogers Library juvenile book selections feature girls both real and imaginary!

A real and amazing young woman, Malala Yousafzai has written a marvelous children’s book entitled “Malala’s Magic Pencil”. Malala, who is the youngest-ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for her work as an education advocate in her native Pakistan, has written about her early life and inspiration. The book explains in easy to understand terms about the conditions that children face in many countries and the need to stand up for important beliefs such as education and health. The illustrations by Kerascoet, are delicate and interesting as Malala dreams of a magic pencil with which she can change the world. “Malala’s Magic Pencil” can be found in the Early Readers Section of the Will Rogers Library.

The Nancy Drew series of mysteries continue to be favorites among young readers. The Will Rogers Library has the original books along with some newer stories called “Nancy Drew Diaries”. The intrepid girl detective entertains and inspires young readers today as well as she did in the past! These great books can be found in the Juvenile section of the Will Rogers Library.

Happy March Reading!
