Tarah Warren is the Executive Director and Founder of Tenaciously Teal (T. Teal), an Oklahoma-based non-profit focused on the support of cancer fighters and their families. Tarah received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Southern Nazarene University (2006) and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma (2014). Prior to her full-time role with T. Teal, Tarah spent almost 10 years working with the Child Welfare division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. During this time, she served children and families in the field for 6 years. She was later selected as the lead for state-wide implementation of Team Decision Making and trained new child welfare staff in a Family Centered Services model.

Tarah was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer in December of 2012, and scheduled for sixteen months of chemotherapy. During treatment, Tarah noticed many cancer fighters who did not have a network of support. In response, Tarah began distributing Cancer Care Packs during each visit to the cancer center. These simple acts of kindness eventually led to the founding of Tenaciously Teal in 2013. Today T. Teal operates in over 15 treatment centers and Oncology offices across Oklahoma and is dedicated to spreading love to cancer fighters through; Cancer Care Packs, disbursing Gas & Grocery assistance to patients in need, and specializes in Brave Shave & Empowerment Shoots, a concierge style service for women facing hair loss from cancer treatment.

Teal has been fortunate to receive recognition for its community impact in Oklahoma. In 2015, it was one of the top five nonprofits nominated for the Oklahoma Reader’s Choice Award for Best OKC Nonprofit. In addition, T. Teal was awarded the inaugural OKC Awesome Award and was recognized by the Journal Record as a Program Making a Difference in Oklahoma. Tarah serves on the Board of Advocates at the Stephenson Cancer Center and has been recognized with the Board of Advocates’ Inspiring Leadership Award.
