After Labor Day comes the start of fall, pumpkin spice, sweaters and boots. What better way to celebrate than Claremore’s Bluegrass and Chili Festival! Now in its 38th year, the festival brings three stages of live music, outhouse races, chili cook-off, shopping and more to the grounds of the Claremore Expo Center September 7-9th. Funnel cakes, caramel apples and carnival rides mean that it’s time for the Rogers County Fair! Known as the largest county fair in Northeast Oklahoma, you’ll get to enjoy the Ferris wheel and other rides along with livestock shows, live music, boutique shopping and more! The Rogers County Fair will take place September 14 through the 17th at the Claremore Expo Center. Remember that admission and parking are free so you have more to spend having fun!
Live horse racing starts back up at Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs on Saturday, September 9th! Racing happens every Saturday and Sunday this fall with post time at 12:30 pm. On Saturday, September 16th you can also enjoy the Cowboy and Western Market Day from 9 am to 7 pm. Shop western tack, Indian art and other vendors. Admission to the Market Day is $5 for adults, kids 12 and under are free!
The Route 66 Cruisers Car Show is back at beautiful Claremore Lake Park on Saturday, September 30th. Browse through a wide array of vintage and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. There will be food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, pinup girl contest and more! On Friday night they’ll be cruising into Ne-Mar Center.
Shepherds Cross, a working sheep farm located north of Claremore off Route 66, is prepping for their annual Pumpkin Festival! Every Tuesday through Saturday, September 26th through November 4th you can visit Shepherds Cross to pick out your own pumpkin, play festive fall games, enjoy kids activities and enjoy scarecrow making and hayrides. The Pumpkin Festival is by donation with a few optional activities to pay for.
Head on down to Historic Downtown Claremore on Thursday, September 28th for Food Truck Thursday! Enjoy live music, food trucks, kids activities and shopping in Claremore’s great boutiques and specialty shops.
