Fourth of July brings fun and fireworks, but it also brings FISHING! The annual kids fishing derby will take place at Claremore Lake on Tuesday, July 4. The park opens at 6a, and fishing is from 7a – 10a.

Each child will receive a rod and reel, small tackle box, and bait (while supplies last). If you want to bring your own, Nabatak will be open special hours that day from 7a – 5p for all your last-minute needs.

Trophies will be awarded for smallest and largest fish in each category, as well as overall largest fish. Age groups are 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. After the awards ceremony, a drawing will be held and SIX lucky winners will take home new bicycles.

The park will close at 11a, and reopen at 6p for the Claremore Fireworks Extravaganza.

Fish must be caught by the child participating from the bank. No fishing from boats. No nets allowed. All fish must be caught during the derby in Claremore Lake.
