Claremore Summer Camps: THE LIST!

It’s here! We’ve got the full list of the City of Claremore’s youth day camps. Check it out!

But first, the rules:

Payment may be made with cash or personal check at the Claremore Park and Recreation Department at the Claremore Community Center (2301 N. Sioux). Sorry, no credit cards or online payments. CHECKS MUST BE MADE OUT TO THE INSTRUCTOR.

Please alert the camp if your child might have allergic reactions to any food or materials that could present any health problems for them while attending camps.

Full refunds will be granted if the request is submitted 7 business days in advance of the camp or class start date or if the camp does not have enough participants to begin. Once the camp or class has begun, no refunds will be granted.

All classes are limited in the number of students who may participate. For those classes that require fees, participation will be determined by those who have paid first. If the class size is limited to 15, only the first 15 paid will be eligible to participate.

Digital Photography – June 5 – 9 (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri), 10a – 12p, grades 4 – 8. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Della Easton of Catoosa Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Digital photography camp will offer a better understanding of photography, with hands-on instruction and practice. We will provide cameras, but you may bring your own.

Arts & Crafts with Ms. Brandee – June 5 – 9, 10a – 12p, grades K – 6. Claremore Community Center, Room #4. Instructor: Brandee Kime of Oologah Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Experience different forms of art media: pastels, watercolors, acrylic painting, clay, and more.

Science is Fun – June 5 – 9, 1p – 3p, ages 8 – 14. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Angela Pasdach of Sequoyah Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. You will be studying chemistry, physics, rocks, and biology.

Cooking with Ms. Linda – June 12 – 15, 9:30a – 12p, ages 9 – 15. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Linda Coons of Country Inn B&B. Cost is $50 per student. Learn from the best! Culinary arts at its finest.

Scientific Super Hero – June 12 – 16, 10a – 12p, grades Pre-K – 2. Claremore Community Center, Room #4. Instructor: Kim Atkins of Pryor Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. As super heroes, this class will make costumes to wear while performing our important “life-saving” science experiments and create heroic crafts.

Paint Party Princess – June 12 – 16, 1p – 3p, grades Pre-K – 2. Claremore Community Center, Room #4. Instructor: Kim Atkins of Pryor Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. It will be a wonderful week full of pretty, posh crafts, complete with polite games and tea parties.

Wild at Art: Creative Nature Camp – June 12 – 16, 1p – 3p, grades Pre-K – 2. Claremore Community Center Gym and Conference Room. Instructor: Jennifer Sams of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. An adventure in art and natural science, this camp will educate on plants and animals as well as provide kids a chance to create nature-themed artwork and poetry.

OETA’s Ready to Learn Program – June 12 – 14, 2p – 4:30p, grades Pre-K – 3. Claremore Community Center, Conference Room. Instructor: OETA Instructors. FREE to first 40 entrants. Join OETA’s Ready to Learn Program for a fun-filled educational summer camp. You will spend time exploring the PBS Kids apps and gaining literacy skills through activities provided by the Ready to Learn Program. Participation will be for this week and will continue into next week. Entire class is June 12 – 14 and June 19 – 21.

ART: Anything Can Happen – June 19 – 23, 10a – 12p, ages 7 – 11. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Lauri Titsworth of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Come dressed for messy fun as you explore various art mediums and create paintings, superhero sketches, oil pastel portraits, string art, and more. Super surprise on Wednesday!

Base Camp Zo – June 19 – 23, 10a – 12p, ages 8 – 14. Claremore Community Center, Room #4. Instructor: Ashley Long of Owasso Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Love animals? You will journey through the different phylums as you learn about animal habitats, anatomy, and special characteristics. Activities include art, specimen collection, and animal anatomy identification.

Let’s Act Like Kids – June 19 – 23, 1p – 3p, ages 4 – 6. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Lauri Titsworth of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Each day, you will enjoy fun activities based on picture books. You will read a story together, do a bit of art, create and eat a snack, sing songs, and play silly games.

Acting/Improv – June 19 – 23, 1:30p – 3:30p, grades 1 – 8. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Debbie Savage of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. This is an introductory class. A fun class for kids of all ages who might be a little shy or extraverted with lots of energy. You will learn acting techniques while playing fun games throughout the week.

OETA’s Ready to Learn Program – June 19 – 21, 2p – 4:30p, grades Pre-K – 3. Claremore Community Center, Conference Room. Instructor: OETA Instructors. FREE to first 40 entrants. Join OETA’s Ready to Learn Program for a fun-filled educational summer camp. Cost is $100 per week or both weeks for $185. Don’t miss this fun-packed week of sports, with swimming, tennis, and racquetball, plus visits to the Claremore Rec Center, Incredible Pizza, and Woodland Hills Mall. Exploring Electricity – July 5 – 7, 9a – 12p, ages 6 – 10. Claremore Community Center, Room #4. Instructor: Starr Wilson of Owasso Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Spend a week exploring the mysteries of electricity. Campers will use Snap Circuits to learn terminology and build projects that are fun and highly engaging. You will be playing games and get a great understanding of how electricity works.

Music Harmony: Variety of Voices – July 5 – 7, 9a – 12p, grades Pre-K – 2. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Jennifer Sams of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Sing and dance into the summer with instrument demonstrations, song and dance, instrument making and learning about music from other cultures! Bring your dancing feet!

Planets, Rockets, and Aliens! Oh, My! – July 5 – 7, 9a – 12p, grades Pre-K – 2. Claremore Community Center, Conference Room. Instructor: Kim Atkins of Pryor Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. This class will be a blast OFF! With crafts, games, space facts, and some alien stories, too.

Sweets Bake Shop – July 5 – 7, 1p – 4p, ages 6 – 14. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Ashley Long of Owasso Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Want to have the skill set to satisfy your sweet tooth craving at any time? Well, this will be perfect for you! You will learn to make your own icing and different decorating techniques. You will also learn the “Fondant Decorating” process.

Our World is a Zoo – July 5 – 7, 1p – 4p, grades pre-K – 2. Claremore Community Center Conference Room. Instructor: Kim Atkins of Pryor Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Campers will explore the different animals and environments of our world through crafts, stories, and foods: polar, jungle, and desert.

STEM – July 10- 14, 10a – 12p, ages 6 – 10. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Starr Wilson of Owasso Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Please join us for a week of highly engaging STEM activities to encourage critical thinking and creativity. You will be engaged in completion of hands-on activities that will inspire discovery. Campers will work on projects that will challenge them.

Science is Fun – July 10 – 14, 1p – 3p, ages 8 – 14. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Angela Pasdach of Sequoyah Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. You will be studying chemistry, physics, rocks, and biology.

Drama – July 10 – 14, 1:30p – 3:30p, grades 1 – 8. Claremore Community Center Conference Room. Instructor: Debbie Savage of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. This will be a fun class with a little more work involved in memorizing lines and you will actually put on a short play at the end of the week. This is great for all ages.

Dance Party – July 17 – 21, 10a – 12p, ages 7 – 12. Claremore Community Center, Room #4. Instructor: Edie Titsworth, former CHS and RSU Dance Team. Cost is $50 per student. Come learn some jazz and hip-hop moves with us as we learn how to count off choreography to your favorite songs. By the end of the week you will be able to show off your new skills. On Friday, you will dance for your family in a special show.

Jewelry Making Camp – July 17 – 21, 1:30p – 3:30p, grades 1 – 8. Claremore Community Center Conference Room. Instructor: Deb Savage of Claremore Public Schools. Cost is $50 per student. Get your bling going. Ms. Savage shows her versatility with this very popular camp. This camp just keeps getting better as time goes on.

Camp Glam – July 17 – 21, 2p – 4p, ages 8 and up. Claremore Community Center, Room #3. Instructor: Hanna Steuart. Cost is $50 per student. Girls, you will learn some simple nail designs and how to do them. Also, you will learn some simple hair styles and learn appropriate make-up routines.

Archery – July 17 – 21, 6:30p – 8:30p, ages 8 and up. Claremore Community Center Gym. Instructor: Don Taylor. Cost is FREE!! Basic archery instruction with qualified instructors. You will be using the latest archery equipment and techniques used in archery.
