On Saturday morning, a car accident claimed the life of former Jets player Dennis Byrd. The wreck happened on Highway 88 near Lowry Road, just north of Claremore. In the aftermath, Byrd’s 10-week-old black Lab puppy ran away from the scene. Family members are asking for the public’s help in locating the dog.

The puppy is named Willow, but she doesn’t know her name yet, so she won’t respond. She should be wearing a red collar. If you find the dog, please call News On 6 at 918-732-6105.

Our condolences to the Byrd family during this tragic time, and to those involved in the accident.
