RSU Cheer Squad Heads to Nationals


The Rogers State cheerleading team is primed and ready for another crack at a national title heading to Daytona Beach, Florida for the 2016 National Cheerleader Association’s Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship April 7-8.

Looking to improve on a second-place finish from the 2015 championships, the Hillcats are set for the preliminary competition in the Intermediate Coed Division II April 7 at The Band Shell at approximately 2:55 p.m. The finals are slated for April 8 at the Ocean Center between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

A sneak preview of the Hillcats’ performances is scheduled for Tuesday, April 5 inside Bushyhead Fieldhouse on the Claremore campus of RSU. The performance will be held at 8 p.m.

RSU will be executing its 45-second game day routine as well as its full nationals routine for those hoping to catch a glimpse of the action and give the team a sendoff to Florida.
