Local Volunteer Receives Claremore Rotary Award

Jill Binder of Claremore received the Family and Community Service Award from the Rotary Club of Claremore Tuesday, June 3, 2015, for her volunteer work with the Child Advocates of Northeast Oklahoma – CASA and the Special Olympics. The Rotary Family and Community Service Award is presented to non-Rotarians who demonstrate outstanding service to families and communities.

Since 2012, Binder has been a CASA volunteer and currently has assisted 18 children. The Child Advocates of Northeast Oklahoma is a court-appointed special advocate program for children in the Rogers, Mayes, and Craig counties court systems due to neglect and abuse. Binder is also the coach for a Special Olympic Team, which two of her sons with special needs are members.
