Claremore Driveway: 2012 Mercedes C250 AMG Sport Panorama Coupe
I’ve been waiting a while for this one. I like the C Class because the seats fit me well and the smaller size is easier to park and maneuver. The C250 Turbo Coupe has a mean sporty look without being a gas hog. The big panorama roof looks way cool and goes all the way back.
This one is special in that it has about $10k in extra options, getting an equipment level more like the big boys we have. It has NAV and a backup camera. I don’t use the NAV a whole lot but the backup camera is a must for us guys with stiff necks.
The AMG sport front end is my style, and somebody ordered the big wheels and tires.
If you can believe it, this car actually has the radar (blind spot monitoring and the lane assist that lets you know if you are drifting lanes). That’s the kind of stuff you don’t see often .
One thing I liked about this particular car was the factory special order Cuprite brown paint. Don’t know about you, but I had no idea what a cuprite was, so I checked with Mr. Google, who says cuprite is a particular type of copper ore that is dark brown in color with just a tinge of red reflections. Yep, that’s it. An elegant dark color that doesn’t shout “look at me!” but with that slight red tinge that makes it almost be a burgundy color in some lights.
Also, if you leave your car parked at Utica Square, you’ll know you’ll be able to find it easily as it will be the only one not silver or black.
Oh, and did I mention it’s an almost new car for $10k off sticker?
My name is Robby Melton. I’m old enough to qualify for a “senior coke” at McDonalds and don’t have to work anymore, but find myself here on the lot most days because that’s where the cars are. That advertising slogan, “We sell cars for fun,” is not far off-base for my brother and me.
