After a lengthy and strenuous interview and application process, Nichole Potter of Claremore has been crowned Mrs. Claremore! Nichole will represent Claremore in the Mrs. Oklahoma pageant this weekend, to be held in Guthrie.
The title of Mrs. Claremore is based on more than just a pretty face. While a beautiful woman, Nichole was also judged on her interview skills, achievements, overall personality, community involvement and platform, which is Empowering Women Through Lifestyle and Fitness. As a certified fitness instructor and Beachbody Coach, as well as a degree holder in dietetics, this is a cause that is near and dear to Nichole. Her mother, Nancy Phelps, is the Director of Development for Safenet Services, which Nichole also donates a lot of time volunteering with, so she knows how important it is for women to feel strong, healthy and independent.
In the Mrs. Oklahoma pageant, which will take place at the Guthrie Scottish Rite Temple, a more traditional pageant format is used. Delegates will compete in the categories of interview, swimsuit/fitness and evening gown. There are 17 women participating this year. The Mrs. Oklahoma pageant is the official state preliminary competition for Mrs. America, celebrating the achievements, poise and personality of Oklahoma’s accomplished married women.
In addition to the competition, there is currently a Facebook contest taking place, in which the women vie for the most “likes” on their photo. This is where Nichole needs our help!
To help our own Mrs. Claremore, simply like Mrs. Oklahoma Pageant on Facebook. Then CLICK HERE and like Nichole’s photo. Boom. Done. Please note that in order for the vote to count, you must like the Mrs. Oklahoma Pageant page first, but that’s easy. Let’s show Nichole that Claremore is behind her and help her rock the vote!
If you want to help even more, vote for Nichole in the Fabulous Faces contest. Votes are $1 each with no limit, and the winner automatically advances to the semi-finals. Proceeds will benefit the delegate’s charity of choice; Nichole’s is Safenet.
Nichole is a Claremore native. She graduated from Northeastern State University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She is married to Brian Potter of Sequoyah, who is both an Owasso firefighter and a professional bass fisherman. Nichole and Brian have a daughter, Mekentzi, 4, and a son, Eli, 1. The Potters are members of First Baptist Church in Claremore.
As Mrs. Claremore, Nichole has made several public appearances, like at The District on Main and last week’s St. Patty’s Party in downtown Claremore. Nichole also serves as a Chamber Ambassador. She is available for speaking engagements and public appearances. For more information, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
