My name is Robby Melton and I am a car nut. The best part of my job is I get to drive a different hot cool car home every night. Last night I drove a 2013 Volvo XC60 crossover.
The Flamenco Red (we used to call it “Candy Apple Red”) makes it a knockout. My favorite thing about this car, like all Volvos, is the seat. Volvo seats are AWESOME! I like the Volvo reputation for reliability and safety, but I think all cars in this segment are pretty reliable and safe. This is a car that can hold its head up in the $50,000 European crowd and is considered a buy at $40,000 sticker. After we get done with her, she’ll go on our lot with a no haggle price of just under $30k. These have a 4-year/50,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty and when I drive around 65 mph, the gas mileage will push 30 mpg. When I get her up to turnpike speed it comes down to low 20’s.
This car, then, is right for the person who would love to have a European luxury crossover but without the flash of a BMW, Mercedes or Audi.
Oh, and did I mention the seat?
